Hi I am Marlene, Tracy’s mom and the third part of the team on this journey that we are taking you along with us! I am 61 and have been married for 40 years and my husband and I are starting to think about retirement. Well my story is that I have tried many diet programs throughout my years and the one that has always worked best for me is Weight Watchers. So my goal was to be thinner and healthier at 50 then 60 and now I am committed to a healthy lifestyle and working towards goal weight at 62. As you can see by my picture I have lost weight several years leading up to vacation, problem was that once I got back from vacation I lost my incentive and gained back the weight I lost. This cycle continued for many years, sound familiar?
Well this is a new me and this year when we returned, for the first time I am back on program and back in my exercise routine!
So for those of you who are over 60 and think you are too old to make this lifestyle change let me tell you..yes you can! I am following the new program of Weight Watchers Simply Filling and LOVE IT,I am going to Jazzercise classes 3 to 4 times a week. Was it scary to walk into a Jazzercise class over 60 and 80 pounds overweight? You bet it was, but you know what? I am probably the oldest in the class it is a great group of new friends and yes I can do it! They help with modification if you need it and I have now lost 34 lbs.
I am just taking one day at a time putting one step in front of the other and continuing on the journey and welcome you to follow as I make my way to goal. Hoping that I can help someone else make the commitment to a healthy lifestyle.
I want to enjoy my retirement to the fullest and I am on my way, come along with me!
