A friend of mine told me about another app to help guide you to healthy choices when grocery shopping. It is called fooducate and it is free!
I just added it on to my phone today and tried it out. I would say it is similar to the Weight Watcher etools, it allows you to scan any item and it will give you calories, points, nutritional information and it actually gives the item a letter grade ranging between A to F.
If it is a low grade and you would like to see better alternatives it will give you that too! I had a lot of fun with it going through Target scanning things! I scanned a Fiber One 90 calorie bar, which I occasionally have. I was surprised that it only had a C rating. I scanned a box of Quinoa as we know I do have weekly and it got an A-, 172 calories per serving. It is 100% whole grain and more than 12% of my daily fiber, FoodPoints is 4.
I am looking forward to using it I see it as another great tool to aid me in making healthy selections. Hmmm think I will go scan my cupboard and see how my selections have been in the past! Will keep you updated, meanwhile check it out…after all it is FREE!
Let us know if you download the Fooducate app and what you think of it! Are there apps out there that you really like? We would love to hear!
