There was actually a breeze here in Florida this morning, so I got daring and went for a jog as soon as the kiddos got on the bus and it went pretty well! I started the RunKeeper App and then proceeded to read emails and walk for 5 minutes, so my time kinda wasn’t the greatest – but that’s ok 🙂
I think this is week two or three of my healthier life journey and I am making small changes daily. I feel better about myself and that’s really nice actually. I will make sure to get in another 4 days of exercise this week, I can feel my muscles coming back and the stamina in my lungs when I run.
My cousin told me a long time ago that your body remembers what you can do. So, if you could 5 miles when you were 16, your body remembers that. She was trying to get me to run 5 miles that morning and I told her that I hadn’t run over 3 miles in YEARS. I used to run track – and since I ran the 1/2 mile I would train with the long distance runners sometimes, so that meant an 8 mile run once a week. And my cousin told me simply – if I could then – I can now.
That stuck with me….and since then I have run 8 miles on more than one occasion. I have run two Half Marathons. I will do it again. I will continue to remember that my body is a wonderful thing. My mind is a wonderful thing. My heart is a wonderful thing. I am a wonderful person. I will continue to treat myself as one! And that means regular exercise, opening my eyes to better food choices (see our experience with the Fooducate app here!) and so much more.
So today I hope that you tell yourself that you are AMAZING and that you are worth that extra effort….in anything and everything 🙂
